- June 30, 2007 - Tip and belt testing
will be held on this date at 11:00 am. It is
recommended to arrive at the dojo by 10:30 am. This will be a
combined test for the Cocoa and Suntree dojos, held at the
Cocoa dojo. Please make sure to be reviewed by your
Sensei this week and have their approval to test. Testing fees and paragraphs
are to be submitted to senseis during
the week prior to the test. Students who will not be
testing on this date are encouraged to
attend in support of those who are testing.
- April 24, 2007 - Green tip testing
will be held on this Tuesday evening at
6:00 PM (arrive early). Testing fees and paragraphs
are to be submitted to your sensei during
the week prior to the test. Students who will not be
testing for a green tip on this date are encouraged to
attend in support of those who are testing.
- February 24, 2007 - Tip and belt testing
will be held on this date at 11:00 am. It is

- December 23, 2006 - The dojos of Central
Florida will hold the second of two end-of-the-year workouts at the
Cocoa YMCA dojo this Saturday at 11:00 AM, during Hanshi'
s regularly scheduled workout. Members of the Cocoa
Beach, Cocoa, and Suntree dojos are invited to attend.
This workout will include a
Compai with minor snacks and (non-alcoholic) drinks making
toasts to the new year intermeshed with special kata
performances.
- December 21, 2006 - The dojos of Central
Florida will hold the first of two end-of-the-year workouts at the
Cocoa Beach Recreation Center this Thursday evening at 6:00 PM,
during Hanshi'
s regularly scheduled workout. Members of the Cocoa
Beach, Cocoa, and Suntree dojos are invited to attend.
This workout will end by 7:30 PM due to a basketball
tournament immediately following the workout. If
any deshi strongly wish to bring snacks or drink to make a
toast (Compai), it would have to be served after the workout
in the parking lot due to the basketball tournament. [Click here for

- November 1, 2006 - The 2007 Ueshiro Shorin-Ryu
membership fees are due by this date. The fee is $25
for adults below the rank of black belt. Adult white
belts with no green tips and children younger than 18 are
not required to be members. Please bring cash or a
check payable to Ueshiro Shorin-Ryu Karate USA to the

- May 29, 2006 - A special Monday
morning Memorial Day workout will be held on the beach at
10:00 AM, headed by Sensei Tezel of the Cocoa Beach
dojo. We will meet behind Lori Wilson Park (next to
the Holiday Inn). Please bring drinking water. Following the workout, Sensei Tezel
has invited all students and their family members to his
home on Merritt Island for a cook-out and pool party.

- Feb 2006 - The month of February is
going to be a busy month at the dojo. We will have visitors
from all of our affiliated dojos visiting Central Florida this
month for Black Belt Review. Click

Note:
On Thursday Feb. 2, 2006,
there will be a workout at both the Cocoa Beach dojo and
the Cocoa YMCA dojo. The Cocoa Beach workout will be headed
by Hanshi at 6 pm and the Cocoa YMCA work out will be at 7
pm.

Sensei
Kenneth Oscarson, Shihan of Cocoa YMCA Dojo in
Florida, today received the prestigious Jefferson
Award for his public service, volunteering to teach the
“Do” (Way) of Ueshiro Shorin-Ryu Karate
USA, under the direction of Hanshi Robert Scaglione.
